  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon oregano dried
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper

  1. In a small bowl, stir together all of the spices until well combined. Store the seasoning mix in an airtight container, such as a glass mason jar, in your spice cabinet.

Notes

This homemade taco seasoning recipe makes about 32 teaspoons, which is roughly equivalent to 8 store-bought packets. Use approximately 2 tablespoons of this mixture per pound of ground meat for tacos.
