  • 0.5 cup cremini mushrooms cleaned and sliced
  • 0.5 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup tomato sauce spaghetti sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon freeze dried basil
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 0.5 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 cup crackers for serving

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onion and cook for 3 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and mushrooms; cook until mushrooms are tender.
  4. Add ground beef and season with salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Cook until meat is browned.
  5. Stir in tomato sauce and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
  6. Grease an 8-inch round baking dish with butter.
  7. Spread cream cheese evenly on the bottom of the dish.
  8. Spread meat mixture over the cream cheese. Top with shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  9. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until hot and bubbly.
  10. Serve warm with crackers.
