Preparation Steps
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onion and cook for 3 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and mushrooms; cook until mushrooms are tender.
- Add ground beef and season with salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Cook until meat is browned.
- Stir in tomato sauce and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
- Grease an 8-inch round baking dish with butter.
- Spread cream cheese evenly on the bottom of the dish.
- Spread meat mixture over the cream cheese. Top with shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until hot and bubbly.
- Serve warm with crackers.
