Ingredients
  

Fajita Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.13 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
Main Ingredients
  • 1.5 pounds chicken breast boneless, skinless, cut into strips
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 2 medium bell peppers any color, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
For Serving (Optional)
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheese
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 cup salsa
  • 0.25 cup chopped cilantro

Preparation Steps
  1. In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients for the fajita seasoning. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the chicken strips with half of the fajita seasoning. Make sure the chicken is well coated.

  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

  4. Add the sliced onion and bell peppers to the same skillet. Add the remaining fajita seasoning and cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender-crisp, about 5-7 minutes.

  5. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet with the vegetables. Add the lime juice and stir to combine. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until heated through.

  6. Serve the chicken fajita mixture immediately with warm tortillas and your favorite toppings.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can marinate the chicken in the seasoning and lime juice for at least 30 minutes before cooking. Enjoy!
