Preparation Steps
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a 9x9 baking dish with parchment paper and lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray.
- Add the brownie mix, melted butter, half and half, egg yolks, coffee granules, and vanilla to a mixing bowl. Stir until just combined, with some lumps remaining.
- Fold in 1 cup of chopped semi-sweet chocolate.
- Spread batter evenly in the prepared baking dish. Bake for 35-40 minutes until moist crumbs cling to a toothpick.
- Immediately sprinkle remaining chopped chocolate over hot brownies. Let cool completely. Optional: sprinkle flaky sea salt on top.
- Use parchment edges to lift brownies out of dish. Cut into 4x4 slices. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
