  • 1 cup mashed bananas (about 2 bananas)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 package cream cheese (8oz/250g, softened)
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 0.25 cup seedless strawberry jam
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2.5 tablespoons milk
  • drop red food coloring (optional)
  • chopped walnuts (optional)
  • whipped cream (optional)
  • cherry (optional)

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Using an electric mixer, beat butter at medium speed for 30 seconds.
  4. Mix in sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
  5. Mix in eggs and mashed banana.
  6. Beat in flour and cocoa powder.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  8. Bake brownies for 20-25 minutes.
  9. Remove from oven and allow brownies to cool completely.
  10. While brownies are cooling, use an electric mixer to beat together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, strawberry jam, and milk. Mix until creamy, about 4-5 minutes.
  11. Spread frosting over brownies. Optional: top with chopped walnuts, whipped cream, and a cherry.
