Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 lbs Russet potatoes scrubbed clean
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 0.5 tsp paprika optional
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder optional

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly. Cut each potato lengthwise into 6-8 even wedges.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the potato wedges with olive oil, salt, black pepper, paprika (if using), and garlic powder (if using). Toss until all the wedges are evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the seasoned potato wedges in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure not to overcrowd the pan, as this helps them get crispy.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping the wedges halfway through, until they are golden brown, tender on the inside, and crispy on the outside.
  6. Remove from the oven and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ketchup, ranch, or sriracha mayo.

Notes

For extra crispy wedges, soak the cut potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before patting them completely dry and tossing with oil and spices. This removes excess starch.
